In the workplace

Exposure to loud sounds and intense noises are occupational hazards associated with a multitude of industries. Although these higher levels of sound combined are enough to cause hearing damage and potential hearing loss, there are methods of protection available to guard from irreversible hearing damage.

HEI emphasizes the importance of wearing hearing protection whenever possible and minimizing exposure to noise at dangerously high levels. Hearing protection is a first line of defense when it comes to severe levels of sound.
